1. Welcome Ceremony

On behalf of the People’s Procuratorate of Tongshan District, Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, and on behalf of Liu Yanhong, the dean of Southeast University Law School, Zhou Dongsheng, the Attorney General, signed a cooperation agreement for graduate workstations on behalf of the Law School of Southeast University. Taking the illegal medical practice case and theft of national resources as examples, the Sun Jin Special Committee proposed that practice and theory should be combined when handling cases, and the problems in judicial practice should be deepened into theoretical research topics. Prosecutor Zhou Dongsheng believes that the cooperation between the two sides should focus on creating four platforms, including: (1) the development of legal theory and practice to achieve a platform for full coverage of practical teaching; (2) the exploration of personnel exchanges and the normalization of talent training models; (3) Co-construction of teaching and training bases, striving to construct a high-level education platform; (4) Jointly carrying out practical investigations and realizing the sharing of theoretical information.
Dean Liu Yanhong spoke on the successful signing of cooperation between the two parties. Dean Liu pointed out that the co-construction with the People’s Procuratorate of Tongshan District in Xuzhou City means that the law practice personnel training of the Southeast University Law School and the co-construction of the school have achieved a new starting point. Southeast University Law School is based on criminal prosecution and has a long-term close relationship with the prosecution business. At present, it has also achieved all-round development. In the future, Southeast Procuratorate will pay more attention to the cultivation of practical talents, combine theory and practice, and make the cooperation more practical and deeper through the two sides, which will certainly create a batch of outstanding double-first-class legal talents.

In the cooperative research exchange, the participants expressed their views on how to promote the cooperative research between the two sides.
Professor Yin Ji, director of the Civil Prosecution Research Base of Southeast University, pointed out that the cooperation between the School of Law of Southeast University and the People’s Procuratorate of Tongshan District of Xuzhou City has a large expandable space, not limited to law, but also the integration of other multidisciplines. In the context of such great cooperation and integration, the two sides will surely achieve better development. Professor Gao Ge, director of the Law Practice Education Center, introduced the newly established Law Education Practice Center, pointing out that the School of Law of Southeast University attaches importance to practical teaching and has important foundation and advantages for practical teaching. Professor Ouyang Benqi, director of the Cyber Security Rule of Law Research Center, believes that the mutual choice between the procuratorate and the law school is a strong combination and mutual improvement. Professor Li Chuan, director of the Jiangsu Youth Work Research Base, exchanged views on the transformation of juvenile crime prosecution from the prevention of juvenile crime to the focus on juvenile victims. Associate Professor Qian Xiaoping, Executive Director of the Anti-Corruption Rule of Law Research Center of Southeast University, proposed that based on the comprehensive and long-term strategic development goals of both parties, research on both the prosecution theory and practice should be promoted in depth. Finally, Vice President Shan Pingji believed that cooperation between prosecution and school is a win-win option.
